ABSTRACT:

Digitalization is a main headline for further optimizing track. Therefore, available data will be discussed, showing that existing data would allow for much more information. This will be discussed in some examples. On the other hand, there is a necessary procedure to deal with data covering verification, positioning as some preconditions for time sequences. Proper time sequences are the bases for calculating rates of deterioration which form a sound basis for prognoses of track and/or components behavior. These prognoses are used to forecast maintenance demand. An example (evaluation of re-investment) for this procedure will be presented including the adjunct economic evaluation as basis for decision making.

Looking forward to a fruitful discussion!

Best regards,
